* Postdoc Positions:

Postdoctoral Fellow in Soft Mechanics

We are looking for one postdoc fellow to join our team at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in the area of soft matter mechanics. The successful candidate will investigate the multiscale mechanics of different soft materials, such as soft polymeric gels, soft composites, and biological tissues. This position will be supervised by Prof. Qin Xu in the Department of Physics, and some of the research will be conducted at the Materials Characterization & Preparation Facility (MCPF). We expect the candidate to collaborate with interdisciplinary groups at both HKUST and HKU.   

Qualifications:

  • A  Ph.D. degree in soft mechanics, polymer materials, soft matter physics, or any related fields (theoretical or experimental).
  • Strong self-motivation and teamwork skills.
  • Good proficiency in both written and spoken English.
